EARTHQUAKE FELT

We felt an earthquake here in Shingletown last night around 8:40pm At first I thought it was the dogs near the couch but it was not. Then Phil said that was an earthquake. We found out today the epicenter was at Lake Almanor not very far from here. I haven't felt an earthquake for many years. It was weird.

A magnitude 3.1 earthquake shook the Shingletown region Friday, but there were no reports of damage. The minor temblor, which struck around 5:11 p.m., was centered about 11 miles north of Shingletown, according to a U.S. Geological Survey Web site. Its depth was 10 miles, according to the USGS. A spokeswoman with the Shasta County Sheriff’s Department said she was unaware of any calls being made to the department regarding the earthquake
