Today we all got up pretty early (5 am) and drove to Shasta Lake, about an hour and a half from Shingletown to visit the Shasta Caverns which was discovered by a couple of brothers back in 1871. There are alot of steps in these caverns. The caverns were nice and cool. We had just passed the Discovery Room which was quite spectacular, and this guy took our photograph in a little alcove on the path. Isaiah and Brandon were real troopers going all the way to the top of the caverns. I quit about 1/2 way up. You see the caverns start at the bottom of the mountain and go up from there. Our tour started at 9 am and we were the only ones on this tour ( the tours are every half hour during the day). I am glad we were there early because its hot out there now.
